Can’t wait for the Hallows’ Eve to indulge your theoretical vices? Opening next week at Shizaru Gallery in London’s Mayfair, GREY AREA is curating a shop of art objects titled BAD FOR ME to complement BAD FOR YOU, an exhibition curated by Beth Rudin DeWoody.
The exhibition examines the human relationship with what is ʻbadʼ through examples like drugs, alcoholism, gambling, materialism, vanity, and cigarettes. At once humorous and grim, the art and objects in these shows avoid judgment and allow the consumer to draw their own conclusions. If you’re in town for Frieze, join us for a private preview on Tuesday, October 9 from 6:30-8:30 PM. The exhibition continues October 10 – November 23 in London and online.
Following the theme of the vice made nice, all the pieces at GREY AREA tackle a different instrument of iniquity making them seductive, amusing or even wearable. Cuddle with a soft bad habit by MEGAN WHITMARSH. Then savor a chocolate sculpture by VADIS TURNER or a resin-cast pill set by RAY GEARY. Pills, guns, blood, and cigarettes; you name it we have it. Just don’t expect any on-site psychiatrists.

More of that London sound coming straight to the U.S. Former N-Dubz member Dappy brings an inspirational vibe to the UK grime sound. And I like it. Props to the choir!
